AKT Peerless provides geotechnical engineering services for shallow foundations. AKT Peerless’ Licensed Professional Engineers locate soil borings to provide an overview of the site’s soil conditions as relevant to the proposed structure, pavements, and other features. Experienced field technicians oversee drilling and sampling while logging borehole results, groundwater and field conditions. AKT Peerless provides a comprehensive geotechnical report, which includes a description of the property, soil and groundwater conditions encountered in the field, and significant features; a discussion of field operations and procedures; and provides recommendations for allowable bearing capacity, minimum footing sizes, anticipated settlement, and construction considerations.
When possible, AKT Peerless works to combine geotechnical investigation with environmental sampling and subsurface investigation (Phase II). Combining bearing capacity samples with Phase II sampling could result in significant savings for the site investigation(s). In addition, environmental information can impact construction practicalities such as soil disposal and handling. By integrating these two services, site-specific recommendations can be made, with potential cost savings in the long run.
