AKT Peerless worked with the City of Dearborn to Decommission the Sharon Steel Facility. A Hazardous Material Survey and Site Characterization Investigation was completed and was used to develop a Facility Decommissioning Plan.
The facility decommissioning activities achieved a residential closure with the State Regulatory Agency. This closure allowed the City of Dearborn to redevelop the site to meet the needs of the community and turn the site into a school.
