  • Bachelor in Science/Engineering or related field
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification
  • Understanding of OSHA safety compliance
  • 10+ years of work experience in a similar role

Job Description: 

We are looking for a meticulous, dedicated Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to support our Client's occupational health issues. The Industrial Hygienist will assist AKT Peerless to resolve health issues by identifying risks, and by implementing policies and programs to mitigate industrial hygiene issues.  The candidate will be asked to provide consulting services to AKT Peerless clients as well as internal staff. The CIH will provide services to recognize health hazards, test the environment for those hazards, determine if there is a risk to human health in a particular situation, and recommend controls or means of protection from the recognized health hazard.  Additional tasks will include assisting in developing worker protection plans, performing audits, and educating and training management and workers.

  • Updated 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred
  • Completed the NIOSH 582 Fiber Counting Equivalency Course, desired
  • Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor, desired
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant OSHA and EPA laws, policies, and procedures
  • Provide industrial hygiene/OSHA consultation and assessments for industrial and manufacturing facilities
  • Technical report preparation
  • Advising and collaborating with clients to resolve occupational health issues
  • Creating and executing studies to monitor and assess employee exposure to health risks, and to measure effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies and procedures
  • Implementing corrective actions and suspending operations if required
