Job Description:

AKT Peerless is seeking an experienced Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) to join our team in Connecticut. As an LEP, you will play a key role in assessing, managing, and remediating environmental issues to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You will work on a variety of projects, ranging from site assessments to remediation planning, and will interact with clients and regulatory agencies.

Job Requirements:

BS or MS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering or a related discipline
Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP)
Minimum 8 years of professional experience conducting due diligence and regulatory investigations and remediation
Documented experience managing environmental projects of various size and scope
Knowledge of environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and Connecticut’s environmental regulations

Strong background/experience with environmental due diligence
Strong technical writing skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office

Preferred:

Direct experience should include performing environmental site assessments (Phase I, Phase II, cleanup, and continuing obligation reporting) hydrogeological investigations, monitoring/sampling all media, regulatory compliance, and waste management
Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems

Expectations Include:

Conduct environmental site assessments (ESAs) to identify potential sources of contamination, evaluate risks, and develop remediation strategies

Ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and permits during the remedial process

Conducting Phase I ESAs to ASTM standards
Conducting Phase II ESAs
Managing/overseeing hydrogeological investigations
Providing quality environmental services
Managing and responding to clients’ expectations and project objectives
