Job Description:

AKT Peerless is seeking an experienced Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) to join our team in Connecticut. As an LEP, you will play a key role in assessing, managing, and remediating environmental issues to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You will work on a variety of projects, ranging from site assessments to remediation planning, and will interact with clients and regulatory agencies.

Job Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP)
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience conducting due diligence and regulatory investigations and remediation
  • Documented experience managing environmental projects of various size and scope
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and Connecticut’s environmental regulations
  • Strong background/experience with environmental due diligence
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office


Preferred:

  • Direct experience should include performing environmental site assessments (Phase I, Phase II, cleanup, and continuing obligation reporting) hydrogeological investigations, monitoring/sampling all media, regulatory compliance, and waste management
  • Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems

Expectations Include:

  • Conduct environmental site assessments (ESAs) to identify potential sources of contamination, evaluate risks, and develop remediation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and permits during the remedial process
  • Conducting Phase I ESAs to ASTM standards
  • Conducting Phase II ESAs
  • Managing/overseeing hydrogeological investigations
  • Providing quality environmental services
  • Managing and responding to clients’ expectations and project objectives
