Remediation of release from former dry cleaners
The subject property in Richmond, California operated as a dry cleaners for decades. A release of tetrachloroethene has impacted soil, groundwater, and soil vapor. DTSC issued an enforcement order for the remedial investigation, feasibility study and corrective actions for the site.
AKT Peerless was designated the Project Coordinator and Project Geologist by the four responsible parties for implementation of the investigation, mitigation, and remediation tasks required by DTSC in the Enforcement Order.
AKT Peerless repaired and restarted the soil vapor extraction and sub-slab vapor mitigation system, secured the property, conducted vapor intrusion sampling, and begun remedial investigation and delineation of the groundwater and soil vapor plume.
The prompt implementation of investigation and mitigation activities has brought the case back into compliance with the Enforcement Order and ended daily penalties.
