AHERA-based asbestos sampling, consulting and project management services for Saginaw Public Schools
Saginaw Public Schools merged Arthur Hill High School and Saginaw High School, consolidating them into the newly constructed Saginaw United High School. The former high school buildings were designated for use by the Saginaw Arts and Science Academy and the new Saginaw Middle School.
AKT Peerless conducted a multi-building Asbestos Survey in accordance with the federal Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for pending renovations and partial demolitions of the existing high school buildings. AKT Peerless assisted the client in preparing Request of Quotation (RFQ), Asbestos Abatement Specifications, and Abatement Contractor Procurement. During asbestos abatement activities, AKT Peerless conducted daily oversight and performed final Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) air clearances.
The aforementioned activities allowed the Saginaw Public Schools to successfully transition into the Saginaw United High School, Saginaw Arts and Science Academy and the Saginaw Middle School.
