Environmental investigation, LUST remediation, and vapor intrusion risk mitigation services for a commercial site in Michigan.
A release of unleaded and leaded gasoline was discovered at the former Lemmen Chevrolet car dealership site in downtown Coopersville, Michigan. The impacted area is primarily commercial and includes a public right-of-way (ROW). The project is part of a pilot program under the ISID contract Y22391, designed to close out older LUST sites with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). Remediation activities required delineation of the gasoline plume, evaluation of residual contamination, and coordination with EGLE and off-site property owners to ensure safe closure and compliance with state regulations.

AKT Peerless successfully characterized and delineated the gasoline release, evaluated residual contamination, and implemented institutional controls to allow safe site closure. Continuous coordination with EGLE and off-site property owners ensured compliance with regulatory requirements, while closure documentation and the PHIC provided long-term protection for the public and the environment.
